On November 6, 2024, the first sessions of the regional councils of people's deputies for Tashkent and Bukhara regions took place. Following the meeting, Zoir Mirzaev retained his position as the hokim of Tashkent region, while Botir Zaripov was re-elected as the hokim of Bukhara region. Thus, both leaders will continue their work in their previous roles, guided by their experience and previously outlined regional development strategies.
The decision for re-election was made by the deputies after reviewing reports on the work done and future plans. Details of the discussions and development programs presented by the hokims have not yet been disclosed, but it is anticipated that they will be published shortly on the official resources of the regional administrations.
It is worth noting that earlier, during similar sessions of the councils of people's deputies, the hokims of several other regions in Uzbekistan retained their positions. Ergash Saliev will continue to lead the Jizzakh region, Normat Tursunov will oversee the Navoi region, and Erkinjon Turdimov was re-elected as the hokim of the Samarkand region. The re-election of heads of administrations indicates a commitment to continuity in regional politics and trust in the current leaders.
This is expected to ensure stability and effective solutions to regional challenges in the near future. Newly elected hokims are anticipated to present their updated development programs for the regions entrusted to them soon.
