Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze will make an official visit to Uzbekistan from February 20 to 22 of this year. This information was revealed during a meeting between Uzbekistan's Deputy Minister of Agriculture Kahramon Yuldashev and the Chargé d'Affaires of Georgia in the republic, David Kotaria. During the visit, a joint meeting of the intergovernmental commission is planned.
The meeting addressed issues related to strengthening the partnership between the two countries in the field of agriculture. The Georgian side proposed initiatives for creating a joint working group to develop new grape varieties, cultivate table and industrial grapes in Uzbekistan with a focus on export, as well as cooperation in livestock breeding, animal identification, and the professional development of specialists.
The visit of the Georgian Prime Minister to Uzbekistan underscores the commitment of both countries to expand cooperation in various areas, particularly in the economy and agriculture. Establishing a partnership in agriculture could be a significant step for Uzbekistan, considering its potential in agricultural production.
It is expected that during the intergovernmental commission meeting, other issues of mutual interest to both countries will also be addressed.
