Узбекистан снизил свои позиции в индексе восприятия коррупции.

Uzbekistan has dropped in the corruption perception index ranking.

According to a recent report by Transparency International published on February 12, 2025, Uzbekistan ranks 121st in the Corruption Perceptions Index.

According to a recent report by Transparency International published on February 12, 2025, Uzbekistan ranks 121st in the Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI) out of 180 countries assessed. The Republic scored 32 points, which is one point lower than last year's score of 33; however, this did not affect its ranking position. The result indicates ongoing issues in the fight against corruption within the country.

The CPI is a composite index that reflects the perception of corruption levels in the public sector across various countries. Ratings are given on a scale from 0 to 100, where 0 indicates the highest level of perceived corruption and 100 indicates the lowest.

In a regional context, Uzbekistan is positioned in the middle of the rankings among Central Asian countries. Kazakhstan shows better results in the region, holding the 88th position. Kyrgyzstan is at 146th, Tajikistan at 164th, and Turkmenistan at 165th.

As in the previous year, Denmark leads the ranking, achieving the highest score. At the opposite end of the list is South Sudan.

Efforts to combat corruption in Uzbekistan are ongoing. Despite maintaining its position in the rankings, the drop in points suggests an increase in corruption within the country's government agencies. Further reforms are necessary to improve the situation and increase citizens' trust in state institutions. Uzbekistan is still in the process of reforming and establishing a more transparent governance system.
