On January 27, 2025, the leader of the "Milliy Tiklanish" party, Alisher Kadirov, raised the issue of the language policy of Uzbekistan Airways. During meetings with voters in the Khorezm region, where topics such as tourism development and national identity were discussed, the politician shared his observations made during a flight. In his view, the analysis of the tourism situation began directly on the airplane, as this area is one of the party's priority activities. He elaborated on this in his Telegram channel.

Kadirov notes that, in his opinion, providing service to passengers in three languages (Uzbek, Russian, and English) in Uzbekistan Airways seems excessive. He estimated that the number of passengers who understand English is around 20%, while those who speak Uzbek is about 75%. The remaining 5% presumably speak other languages. The politician expressed doubt about the practicality of using three languages, suggesting that it adds an extra burden on the airline's staff.

Furthermore, Kadirov pointed out that safety instructions, particularly regarding the use of emergency exits, are duplicated in Russian and English but not in Uzbek.

The leader of "Milliy Tiklanish" emphasized the importance of demonstrating national pride for the national airline. He expressed the opinion that using the state language alongside one of the widely spoken international languages would not only highlight national identity but also optimize work processes. Kadirov urged Uzbekistan Airways to reconsider its language policy.

In response to the politician's statements, representatives of Uzbekistan Airways recommended that he familiarize himself with the informational materials provided on board. At a press conference, the airline stated that all informational brochures, announcements, and other materials contain information in three languages: Uzbek, Russian, and English. Moreover, the information is primarily provided in Uzbek. A correspondent from our publication verified this information on board an Uzbekistan Airways flight and confirmed that the informational materials are indeed available in three languages.

Users on social media are actively commenting on this situation, making ironic remarks regarding the politician's statement.
