An 18-year-old footballer from Uzbekistan has signed with the Spanish club Leganés.

According to a statement from the press service of the Tashkent club, the "railroaders" have sold Lazizbek Mirzaev to the Spanish club "Leganés." The "Leganés" team competes in La Liga and currently holds the 17th position in the league standings.

"Lazizbek Mirzaev began his initial steps in football at the Lokomotiv school under the guidance of Saidullo Tursunov and is recognized as one of the most talented players in his age category in Uzbekistan. His appointment as the captain of the Uzbekistan U17 national team is no coincidence. We thank Lazizbek Mirzaev and wish him success in Spain," the statement from "Lokomotiv" reads.

Earlier this year, Mirzaev participated in the training camps of this team. It was reported that after turning 18 this winter, he will officially sign a contract with the Spanish club.

For reference: in the current season, Lazizbek has played 14 matches in the Super League for "Lokomotiv," which has been relegated to the Pro League.

It is worth noting that in 2023, Mirzaev represented the Uzbekistan U17 national team at the youth World Cup, where he caught the attention of scouts.
