A total of 211 FIFA members participated in the international online congress. According to the decision, the 2030 World Cup will be hosted by Morocco, Portugal, and Spain, with three additional matches taking place in South America – in Uruguay, Paraguay, and Argentina.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino emphasized that in 2030, a ceremony celebrating the centenary of the first World Cup will also be held in Uruguay at the "Centenario" stadium.
“We will move from North America in 2026 to South America in 2030, then to Africa and Europe, still in 2030, and then to Asia in 2034,” stated Infantino.
The 2034 World Cup is planned to be held in Saudi Arabia, where the tournament will take place in the winter due to the region's climatic conditions.
The next World Cup in 2026 will be hosted by the USA, Canada, and Mexico. The previous championship took place in winter 2022 in Qatar.
