A businessman has been appointed as the head of the new Futsal Federation of Uzbekistan.

According to the president of the Uzbekistan Football Association (UFA), Abdusalom Azizov, the establishment of a federation aimed at elevating the development of futsal has been discussed multiple times in the country.

"Our team had an unsuccessful performance in the competitions. This highlighted the need to develop futsal and take it to the next level. This issue has been repeatedly examined within the association," said Azizov.

As a result, Bekzod Mamatkulov, the chairman of the supervisory board of BMB Holding, was elected as the president of the new federation.

The vice president of the federation is Aziz Akbarjonov, the chairman of the board of SQB Bank. Marufjan Abdullaev has also been appointed as the general secretary of the federation.

The federation will commence its activities in 2025. It is worth noting that the Uzbekistan Futsal Association was dissolved in 2017.
