Tottenham intends to expedite its plans for signing a new central defender following the injury to Mickey van de Ven.
Former scout Mick Brown informed Football Insider on October 30 that the club aims to bolster its defensive depth, and this need has become more urgent.
"One of the options being considered to strengthen the defense is 20-year-old Abdulkodir Khosanov from Lens, who has attracted interest from top clubs in Europe," the publication reports.
The player also has 16 caps for the Uzbekistan national team and is a regular at the international level.
Khosanov has also been considered for a move to Newcastle, as former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson told Football Insider that the Magpies are looking to add pace to their defensive line.
The Uzbek player is among several central defenders on Tottenham's transfer target list amid growing concerns about their defensive depth.
They are expected to prioritize signing a new player in the January transfer window.
